Default Does putting a link to my esit in my signature create back links to it?

just curious if by putting a link to my site in my signature on these forums if it will create back links for my site

Yes it will. That is what a back link is, a link to a (your) site on another web page. So every time you post, you will get another back link to your site.

Yes - it will be a backlink(s) to your site.

k thanks cool, but i havent been seeing back links to my site from here when i check google webmaster tools and it is the same thing for some of the other forums i am a member of, isnt it supposed to show up on google webmasters?

A link from any indexed page will count as a backlink

Use the Yahoo Site Explorer to check your backlinks

They can take a while to show up, especially if you are checking with Google. And none of the engines will show them all, even after they have found them. They just don't reveal everything they know. That way you can't reverse engineer their formula.
