Do you speak any another language than English? You could maybe profit from it!

Hi Warriors,

This is pretty weird, I'm French, living in France, and speaking French much better than English, but despite of that, I had never tried before a few days ago to target customers from my country.

My wife wanted to create a small online business but she's not very fluent in English so I had to make some tests for her with a French website to find what would work easily.

Since Christmas is coming I decided to create an Amazon store on a wordpress platform, by using the French Amazon marketplace. I installed a plugin called ReviewAzon and submitted my categories feeds to many RSS directories.

My wife took note of some bestseller items and added them to her new blog. What is great is that the items are automatically published at a pace of about 10 per day.

And I'm pretty amazed at the results! Without doing any link building her blog is already ranking pretty well for some of the products she has selected.

She has started to get free traffic. Sales are not coming yet but I still have to translate some things on her blog (the reviewazon plugin only comes with english templates).

Since the traffic is very targeted (product names) I hope she will start to make some sales very soon.

If you speak another language than English, maybe you could use that to your benefit. Foreign markets seem to be MUCH LESS competitive than the USA and the UK.

Thanks, that's a great suggestion. I speak several languages but none of them good enough to write copy in. That really takes native speaking ability.

But the idea of getting into less competitive markets is sound, even if you have to get a translation done.

Even if you were to outsource this you couldn't check if your writer has written quality articles or not so you're right it's surely a good suggestion only for those who are fluently speaking another language themselves.

No, I only use English for my websites. I don't feel like selling to the Dutch market. Most people here speak English anyway.

That's one of the reasons I didn't try to create sites for the French market before.

I also thought to myself that there are just more customers in the US than in France. But it's so easy to get top rankings for French product names (that have a good search volume) that I might add some French sites to my portfolio from now on.

I speak Croatian fluently, but one problem for doing a service for them is that you have to get paid first and people don't understand anything internet based. So you have to do a lot of explaining and for me it is 10 times easier to explain this in English than in Croatian

SEO is a big thing for most of these people definitely an SEO service will work! Or driving extra traffic to their site etc.

I speak English and Chinese (Mandarin), I've been thinking about making a couple Chinese eBooks and selling them for much less than my English written ones.

I'm the only Caucasian I know that can speak both.

This kind of service would work very well in France too. I have thought of offering my services to local businesses but I prefer creating autopilot-income sites

Ivana are you living in an English speaking country to find it easier to explain things in English rather than in your mother tongue? (I presume Croatian is your mother tongue but I might be wrong)

The Chinese market is surely very vast. If I was speaking Mandarin fluently I think I wouldn't hesitate to try selling some digital products there.

Just moved back to my country use to live in US, when it comes to business I do it all in English so it just comes naturally I guess. Plus people here are not really Internet savvy so explaining is really difficult. Not all, but most. When you say things like electronic books, they dont get it

Most keywords that get tens of thousands of searches in english get very few searches when translated . And most niches where there is a bit of traffic are already pretty saturated.

Right, the search volume is much lower but you can still find some great keywords. Like this one for example: "nespresso le cube"

According to google it gets searched 3,600 times per month in France.
It's a product name, this kind of keywords tends to have a high conversion ratio.

I have just seen that on the first page of results for this keyword there's a french Made-For-Adsense site. Is the webmaster of this site here on the Warrior Forum?

However, they often have no idea about forum marketing, etc. so great way to get into it, further more the advertising is cheap with them as they will not charge an arm and a leg for space.

well for me 3600/m is not that high of a number. Another problème with product based non english websites is affiliate programs. Pretty hard to find affiliate programs. In most cases the only way is to creat an Ecommerce website.

Right now is the *super bowl* of affiliate product marketing and if you aren't promoting for the holidays you are missing out on a HUGE pile of cash.

I speak English, Turkish and Arabic fluently and would love to tap into the Middle Eastern market, but I am not sure what to do... Would you go about KW research the same way as you would in English?

I speak German, wife also speaks spanish. German online market is utterly horrible, so i don't even bother. Very picky and suspicious when it comes to online purchases.

Yes i want to get in the Dutch market to now first i wanted only the English market but i saw some keywords in dutch that got searched 14000 a month with 30000 competing pages.
I got cazy and that was a crisis keyword and alot off product names with olmost no competition and alot of searches.
But im not shure of how to do backlinking and article marketing in dutch. Im must find out if someone has some tips i would love to hear.

to do backlinking, you can post comments on other blogs as well as posts on those blogs, and get active in forums. They will all count as backlinks. What about classified ads.

I don't know about the Middle Eastern market but for France I'm doing my KW research the same way as I do it in English.

And you can also use some of the other web2 properties that allow you to create your own blogs, like wordpress, Live Space and so on... They allow to create blogs in any language and are parked on high pr domains.

I think we must have a different approach dealing with other language markets.

I have some experience in portuguese language but this market is much less developed than english market and we have much less opportunities (generally people don't buy online, people don't pay for informative products, people don't know what membership sites is, etc).

However, these market is also following english market steps. I've been watching for 5 years now and right now we are en 2005 (english market) .

There is also good opportunities, specially for offline businesses, like rebuilding sites, create landing pages, autoresponders and so on. Do you believe 90% of adwords ads go to homepages? And most of them don't have a contact form?! Too many opportunities, right?

By other side, adsense pay much less. Right now 2 clicks in a english site equals 30 clicks in a portuguese site (more and less).

Different market, different approach.

Very interesting. Don't know how much it would pay for adsense clicks here in France, maybe higher than that, it's not as crowded as the US or the UK but there are quite a lot of advertisers.

BTW my wife checked her amazon stats today and she made 4 sales so far
Totalling 10.40 euros.

It's not that much but the site is still brand new and this is her first try. She's even more motivated now and building more backlinks
