Need Advise from the experts please

Hi all...I'm new here and pretty new in the writing industry. I've recently been asked to "ghost blog" for a potential client. He's a public speaker who is really busy with no time to maintain a blog on his busy website. He wants me to blog 2x/week @ 300-400 words/per blog - topic is very familiar to me so not much research involved. Also, wants a me to write a featured article approx 500 wrds. My question: HOW MUCH DO I CHARGE? I don't know what the appropriate rate is. I have another source of income so not trying to make my living from blogging. Can someone help me please? By the way, I'm a published freelance writer in a couple of local magazines so I have writing experience...also was a community columnist about a year ago. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

Do a bit of research and see how much people are charging for this type of work, end of the day how much you think you should get paid is the most important thing as it is your time!

You're right...it is my time. Thank you so much! I have done research and come up with various dollar amounts...in the end, I'll submit an offer. If he chooses to pay, then fine...if not, I'll keep it moving. Been racking my brain and I'm exhausted! Thanks again!!

You should probably also take into consideration the value of the blog/audience you will be writing for. You should charge a lot more for posting on a blog with thousands of visitors a day, than one with only a handful of daily visitors.

If you listen to the experts here it is between $0.01 and $0.05 per word, listen to the experts outside and it can be anything from $0.10 to $10.00 per word depending on the niche and your experience.
