Default Like To Guess The Opt In Conversion of This Squeeze Page?

I stumble upon this squeeze page a while back.

And I found it to be extremely compelling.

It's by Joe Polish, and is highly targeted towards
the "cleaning" niche.

There's very little written copy. And he made
use of audio and photo testimonials (very
nicely done) to sell his free report.

I'm guessing his squeeze page is pulling in
excess of >40%.

Probably one of the best squeeze pages
I've seen.

Here's the link:

What do you think?

I don't know, my eye has trouble knowing where to go and all the testimonials are hard to read. I'm also not a fan of loud messages that play upon entering a site.

But, it probably works well for his business.

I don't like the form. I'm a lazy form filler. I bet he would have higher conversions if the form was shorter.

I don't like it either BUT...

the visually strong header and top of the page makes you go down to the form...

tricky, tricky...

I think he might want to make some changes to that page before Dec 1st.

Yes, I think he probably will get higher conversions if there were left fields to fill in. However this is a physical report, so I can see why the mailing address are needed

That's what I thought as well. It makes me go down to view further.

I read some of Joe Polish stuff's on Gary Halbert's site. And knowing that he was trained under Gary, I'm quite sure he did a lot of testing on his squeeze page.

Maybe he might want to test out an extra form right at the top.

You are referring to the FTC ruling? From my perspective, I don't really see anything wrong with it. Take out the specificity of the testimonials, they are gonna be real weak.

As I'm not from the US, so I'm still very unclear about this though.

#1 rule of squeeze pages are the opt-in should be above the fold.

also the "6 minute" audio message sounds too long to wanna make me have to listen to it.

Trouble is, he's mailing a long format, report style sales letter. He can't make it any shorter than what it already is.

Though, I suppose he could remove email, phone, and fax...but doing that limits follow up to postal mail only. Those three appear not to be required fields, however.

Rules are made to be broken =)

Also, I didn't listen to the whole audio message either. However, I suspect if I was in the carpet cleaning business I would have kept on listening. It's kind of boring if you're not interested in cleaning carpets, but would probably be fascinating to those in the trade.

This guy, for sure knows his stuff! His social proofs are spot-on and his audio also adds to some good conversions. I bet, he is getting some good results.

Thanks for the link.

Guessing the conversion rate on a page like this really doesn't create any value. It's all based on assumptions, probably from people who aren't even in his target market. For all any of us know, it might convert at 2% or 98%, there's simply no possible way to know without real data.

Polish is a pro and has been marketing for a long time to this niche.
He is extremely sucessful.

If you say "I don't like this part of or that part of it or whatever"... go ahead but I'll bet he has tested his squeeze pages every way possible.

So don't use his techniques if you don't want to but you can still learn from a pro.

I'd guess, unless there's something weird about the traffic, that maybe two in three will opt in. But he can only use this page for another couple of weeks anyway, can't he?

I actually don't like it at all. Sure the social proof is great, however, I would never have the form below the fold.

Additionally, I hate auto-playing audio and there are too many things to fill out!

All this talk about the form being below the fold is nonsense

In short form squeeze pages, the form being above the fold is necessary, but when you have something to say, and a different strategy to your opt-in.. then you will have better results (and quality of leads) by putting the opt-in form where it works best during testing!!!. In this particular kind of squeeze page, it is better to warm your visitors a little before you ask them to sign the contract

I have no doubt in my mind that the squeeze page in question is converting VERY well...

It's a proven process...

Put yourself into the shoes of his target market, and then let the page grab you like the consumer. You'll probably have to stop yourself from opt-ing in

Peace

I think you've hit it square on the head, Jay.

He's not marketing to a bunch of lazy IMers, but to
people who are used to doing physical labor and
want to leverage their time to make more money.

These people are not going to be put off by
having to fill in an extra line or two on a form.

I'll be willing to bet the quality of leads Joe gets with
this page is worth two or more times what they would
be with a standard short form page.

In other words, there may be less of them, but more
will end up buying his materials.

It's solid however I would have opted purely for a name/email combo on page 1, perhaps even just an email field, then once you have that go for a page 2 for further details, the number of fields is quite long .

That said, it's a very specific niche and I think people specifically interested in learning how to generate additional revenue from their cleaning service wouldn't care about entering more details.

I'm sure he split tested it.

He's been using a long form since 1996. Unless he just keeps the current free report page up for nostalgia, it's probably bringing in enough business to satisfy him.
