This is what I told a friend of mine when he wanted to do the same (giving away a free report) - get an autoresponder (AR) service - set up your first list and get the subscribe/optin form code - make a squeeze page and insert the optin form in it - make a 'thankyou-page' where they arrive after submitting their email and where you explain the double opt-in process and tell them to go and click on that link in the email (- the AR sends automatically the double optin request) - create a download/confirmation page: that's where they arrive after clicking the confirmation link - have a link on that page to the zip file of your report; clicking on it will start the download - use a simple free script to cloak the location of your download (like this one) - you can also send out the download link as your first AR message - make sure you have the follow-up messages in your AR - drive traffic to your squeeze page |
| In the first half of the year we are supposed to work for the taxman. I think that's a mistake. Help me to get rid of the taxman ASAP - thanks! (You, too, should make less mistakes!) | |

Once you have your autoresponder and start setting things up you will see an option to attach a document to the emails you are sending out. The post by Istvan is a great guide to follow. Good Luck Peter |
