Hi.

I just read the great thread by Michael Mayo 117 plr membership sites and I didn't want to hijack his thread by asking this question inside his thread even it was related to my question.

Since there are so many PLR membership sites it means that there is a huge demand for PLR articles and books in the markedsplace.

Is there anyone here at Warrior Forum that has as its sole business model to buy PLR books and sell it as their own product, either as is, or as a starting point for a new product?

If so, is it a lucrative business model?

- Oddvar.

Honestly, I think PLR products are completely overrated. I don't think that compiling a bunch of second rate articles into a product is much of a strategy for long term success.

PLR articles are useful as a tool, but not as the centerpoint of a business.

PLR can be very useful if it is used the right way.

A lot of people buy PLR products, rebrand them and sell them. Sure, it works... but I don't think that is the best way to use PLR.

In my opinion, the best way to use PLR products is to use them for research. Use them as a starting point for your own products.

PLR products are great for that purpose because:
-The research is already done- which means you don't have to find your own reliable research.
-The ideas are already organized effectively

Instead of just rebranding PLR, use the research and other goodies you pull from the PLR, put your own unique spin on it, and create your own unique product.

There is a WSO right now which is offering 25 models of ways to use PLR, in addition to some PLR resources, and full coaching to make sure you really use it and profit.

Appears it can be an extremely lucrative business model.

I make a good amount of money with PLR. My cousin made six figures from PLR alone last year. The secret is in joining a good PLR site, not one of those BS sites that outsource all of their writing. (Most of them do.)

As an owner of a PLR Membership Site myself I wanted to echo the statements of
    Jay284 and Matt M.

PLR can be extremely useful, but you have to already have an objective in mind BEFORE you decide to use it.

    My Suggestions:
    1) If you are going to buy Private Label Rights to an eBook and plan to re-sell it I would just do some basic rebranding.

The content of the PLR eBook can stay the same (at the very least, although I recommend you switch this up as well) but it's vital that you change the salesletter and sales graphic around just so you look like you have a new product on the block.

    2) For me, PLR just doesn't seem as lucrative in the internet marketing niche. Why? Because a lot of internet marketers are "savvy" and can find your PLR for cheaper alternatives. Another reason why you should always "edit" PLR you buy to make it stand unique.

Don't buy PLR and expect to become rich, only buy PLR if you have a clear objective in mind and you know PLR can help you.

PLR is only a problem if you buy articles and books which have come from wholesalers and are available to everybody.

You can get good PLR which is limited and written inhouse.

    I agree.
I buy the plr's and then change the copy and dress up the ebook with a new cover, add pictures, new graphics for promo etc.
    Works well.

PLR are like the skeleton of your objective.

    1. If you like article marketing then you would rewrite them (outsource of course)
    2. Use a bait for an opt in page (compile into a pdf report)
    3. Rebrand the whole package and sell it as a product (products with sales page)
    4. Rewrite them and use it for SEO
    5. PLR to sell in a membership site

PLR is gold if you have a game plan. You really do need to know what your gonna do with it before it can become useful.

    Hi guys

i personally own a plr site offering one brand new plr product every month for $27 with a $1 signing up trial. I personally go to the effort and writing it myself, doing my own sales page and paying for quality graphics to go with it.

But i created it because when i looked for PLR myself a few years ago all that i could find was a load of rubbish. I even read a freebie last week from a guru and their work was obviously a cheap mixed product. They had several articles written and simply changed it into an ebook and you could see that it had been written by different people.

At the end of the day their is 20% of good plr out there and you need to avoid the rest its just finding that 20%. Its like article writers its taken me years to find one that knows what i like and how i like it.

    kind regards

I use PLR only for creating blog posting. Usually the content of PLR ebooks is not used for this purpose, so you could have unique content for your blogs

      Hello Oddvar,

I just wanted to echo what Jay284 said at the beginning of your thread. Use plr products as a research tool and save loads of time digging up the material for your own product creation.

I'm sure that buying and turning around and reselling plr products can make some money but since a lot of it is rubbish being resold over & over, I do not see it being 'lucrative' nor long lasting.

When you come across a quality content producer, hang on to them. These are the plr products that when you use them as a starting point (as Jay284 says) to create your own info product, you are on your way to a lucrative business.

PLR products have been around 'Offline' for a very long time. So the concept is a very profitable one if used properly. So if you are looking at getting into the business of reselling plr...DON'T! You will go hungry.

Instead, go into business selling your own products that you easily created from the plr products you acquired. Use them as ingredients for your own product and I believe you will do much better.

Good luck Oddvar, in what ever business model you choose.

PLR is a right among others:
PU - RR - MRR - PLR itself - DWYW
      (do whatever you want).

There is 'a game' how you can use any right rightly though.
To make long story short, there are many ways you want to use
when it comes to make money with rights.

Alas there are not much of us knowing it
and fewer are systematized it already.

John Delavera is one of them.

I think he has a course on it
and please be advised I am myself not promoting it
      my mention him here.
But if you want to jump into "rights game"
now you know the guy to look for.
Giving a name when you want a help is a fair trade-off here.

My point is: thinking PLR or any right as a single entity
      is not enough.
You have to play it around a bit inside and amongst others
to get it maximized in end-results.

      Hope helpful.

I share DLM`s point, there are thousands of PLR ebooks and articles, respun over and over and in a nutshell, having them on your website you will find via copyscape that many hundreds of ther sites list the same articles which is bad news with Google.
