Default one article directory or a good few?

hi guys,
i am on marlon sanders list as i suspect a lot of you are. I was reading a newsletter post of his the other day and he said submitting articles to lots of article directories was a waste of time. He said that you should only submit to one article directory and that is EZINE ARTICLES. Can anyone or does anyone agree or disagree with this statement?

I post to 5 article directories then make videos about my articles and post those to 7 video directories.

I think it depends upon the purpose of your article directory submissions. If you want to get the article to appear on page one of google, then the advice may be valid. To achieve this, you would need to send some links to your article in ezinearticles.

However, for getting backlinks for SEO purposes, I recommend submitting unique articles to multiple (maybe five?) high ranking directories.

Well, in a report I received a while
back, the writer said something that
made total sense.

He said it was a waste of time to
submit articles to directories that
aren't indexed by google.

If google isn't picking pages on that
directory your article won't be found
either.

I better leveraged my time by submitting
a massive number of articles to a handful
of the top directories.

Some would say for the purpose of SEO optimization and creating backlinks you want to take massive action - meaning you could submit, say 10 articles to 6 article directories with page rank of 5 or 6. Then choose the best of those 10 and submit it to another 50 or 60 article directories. The goal is to get one backlink from each of those directories. This can help improve your own sites ranking if you have your own site. It takes some time if you are doing manual submissions yourself but it can help get you indexed.

I know that people submit articles to directories for a number of reasons, but for SEO purposes I like to submit to 5 or 6 high ranking directories, which of course include Ezine Articles.

Not only does it help with SEO, you have a significantly higher chance of other webmasters seeing your article when you submit to multiple directories, who may publish your article on their site as well. More traffic!

Just my two cents!

I disagree with his statement.

I would seriously challenge the article marketing experience and know-how of anyone who made that statement.

Were there any obvious or hidden agendas or ulterior motives going on? Anything for sale?

That is, assuming he did actually make that statement, of course.

Allen

Just another new article directory.

Regarding Marlon....does anyone have the Step by Step Article Marketing PDF he sent out around Oct. 30. He mentions it on his site and I am a member but never got it. Some of his stuff goes to my spam pile so that may be it.

Anyway anyone have a copy of it?
