Hi Warriors, Does anyone know where I can find, ideally a photoshop action set, that will generate e-book covers that work with either a very dark grey or black background? I purchased eCoverPro from a fellow warrior and I am extremely pleased with it, but it, like all others I've seen generate a nice e-book sitting on a white background with a bit of shadow/reflection. I really love the look but need it to work on a very dark grey background. Thanks in advanced for any tips or advice! |

Hi Barnsy, If the product you purchased are actually Photoshop actions its simply a matter of changing the color of the white background layer to the color you want after you have created the ebook. If you need a video tut or something let me know and can do a small vid tut. Cheers, Francisco |

If you use a photoshop action (which as you know ecover pro is not) you can turn off the white background and reflection layers. Use an image manipulation program (such as Gimp or download a trial of Photoshop or PS elements) and cut the cover out of the background. Kevin |

Thanks for the tips. It looks like I'm just going to need to play around with photoshop a bit more. So far I've tried stopping the merge layers commands in the action I'm using. It helps, but it looks like the root of my trouble is the .jpg that the action is using as sort of a template for the shape of the ebook. Please excuse my ignorance of the correct photoshop terms. It appears that the .jpg being used by the action is anti-aliased for a white background. Either I need to adjust that file (which I will attempt), or I will try doing as suggested and try cutting the ebook image out of the background and then hopefully I can clean it up. Once again, thanks for the tips! |
