Hi,

I think it depends on what you are after, Free ebooks are quite often "tasters" for bigger and better things.

Having said that there are also some free ebooks still being banded around that are well worth a read.

both have their purpose. I give free ones as bonuses but they are a good source of information. I have actually had people buy my product just to get the free bonus.
I also use Free ones for someone to optin to my lists and that works well.
thanks

Free ebooks, tend to have less of a perceived value IMHO.
Even paid ebooks, seem to have a less perceived value compared to a hardcover book. Some of the freebies out there are better, than paid but overall free tends-to, equate to less for some people.

Hi ladywinfall,

It depends on the topic and quality of the ebook.

If the ebook is on a topic I had wanted to learn about but never pursued it then I would go for a free ebook to sort of test the waters.

However if it was on a topic I truly want to learn about, I would rather not waste the time reading through a free ebook only to get a part of the big picture. In this case I would not think twice about going for a paid ebook.
