I'm trying to access a client's site for information on some work I'm doing for him - and I have not been able to access it all day. I was able to bring the site up Friday but when I tried to go back to it I got the message I'm getting today that the site's server timed out. Yet the client has no problem accessing his site so clearly the site is not down - couldit be down in one area and not another? I have no problem pulling up other sites today. Any suggestions? Anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks kay |

This possibly could be your ISP blocking the ip address of the server. When a ISP has DNS issues sometimes this can happen, you may want to check with your ISP and see if they are having a DNS issue or an issue with that ip address... James |

That might explain it - I thought Friday it was just a fluke and I was on my way out the door anyway. Today is a different matter. The client can pull the site just fine so it's definitely my location it seems. I've accessed it before with no problems. I wondered if perhaps a regional or local problem could cause the site not to load - but didn't think of my own ISP. Thanks - it's a place to start. kay |

Hi Kay, As James said, it could be your ISP blocking your IP address. You might want to view via a proxy such as WorldProxy202 - Proxies from around the world at your fingertips. to see if there is any difference. Jag | |

could also be a bad server, maybe the server is overloaded, or he has reached his bandwidth limit. If it is a dns issue you might be able to access it directly through the IP address. The fact that you were able to access it earlier this week makes me doubt the cache or DNS issues, but it is always possible. PM me the website and I can take a look |

Jag - thanks!!! - I can pull the site up through the proxy. Didn't even think to try that! Obviously the problem is somewhere near my location but at least I can get there now! Thanks to everyone for their help - really appreciate it. kay |
