Default Problem Uploading File in cPanel - Keeps Getting "Stuck"

Trying to upload a file in cpanel using File Manager. But every time (tried about 10 times now) it gets stuck at 14%.

It is a pdf file.

Anyone know whats wrong and how to fix this?

Thank you.

It's possible that you don't have enough space to store the particular file.

Check the space quota for that domain and how much has been used.

Didn't think of that. But just checked. I am only using 301 MB. I have unlimited (yes, I know it's not really unlimited).

I tried uploading another file and it went fine. Perhaps it is the file itself??

I don't use Cpanel to do any uploading because I have experienced issues similar to yours, I always ftp my stuff. There are a lot of free ftp products out there you can use that work great. My current favorite is CoffeeCup Free FTP. Works like a charm every time.

Yeah, well I have Dreamweaver. But that's a whole other story...having trouble with that too! I swear, it's like Murphy's law every time I try to do something.

Gonna go dl CoffeeCup.

Thanks.

Thanks. Didn't notice the legacy file manager.

But, tried that and still got the same thing.

Tried CoffeeCup, it fails. Tried other files, some fail, some go through.
Contacted live support at HostGator. Was disconnected 3 times. Gave up after that.
Looking on the CoffeeCup forums to see if I can find anything out.

Fun fun fun.

Zip the file.

Upload the zipped file.

Uncompress it through cpanel.

Not sure how big the file is you're trying to move, but some servers have a filesize limit on upload. If you're running into trouble with an FTP program, read the MOTD from the server in the dialogue window. Sometimes it'll tell you there.

You might have to disect the file into parts with something like winrar & put the pieces up..then reassemble it.

Just a thought...

Your file manager uploader could only allow an upload of 25mb. You should use the ftp or an external ftp program like cute ftp or smart ftp

Just to update you guys...

I eventually was able to get it uploaded.

As I stated earlier, I tried CoffeeCup and it kept failing. Spoke to HostGator live support 3 times and for whatever reason kept getting disconnected. Gave up on that and set out to see if I could find out an answer to the CoffeeCup issue.

The error I got claimed it was a permission error. Which is wasn't, because I checked

Decided to try HostGator live support one more time. Although the guy was very friendly, he had no idea what was going on either. He mentioned the file size limit thing as well. I was already well aware of that...not the first time I've uploaded files. Not to mention the file I was trying to upload was only 652 kb.

Anyway, as I was chatting with him I kept trying to upload the file through cpanel.

And it just decided to go through. I asked him if he had ever heard of this issue before and he said no. He said it could have been a server error.

So, after 2 hours to upload a single file, I finally had it on my site.

My advice if this happens to anyone else, wait a little bit and try again. If not, it will frustrate the hell out of you!
