Anyone Make Their Money With Micro-Niches?

As some of you know, I've been trying for months to rank in the PE niche and have been having a tough time... I'm wondering if any of you guys have bypassed the "go after the big stuff" advice and instead focused on small niches?

I was thinking of going after a betta fish campaign where the searches only get 400-800 searches per month... Could one build their living on many smaller products/markets rather than trying to focus on just a few big huge ones?

Rather than spending months on one campaign, I'm thinking, why not choose many that you can rank your content for in 1-2 months and just making new campaigns as often as possible? Build your lists in each one etc...

What are your thoughts?

I am sure there are plenty of poeple who make money through several micro niches on the forum. I know a few warriors personally that do make at least a bit of their income from micro niche sites such as blogs or mini review sites. Remember, several small streams lead to one large river of income.

The only downside i see to this is that you will need to be really careful about tracking what you are doing so that you don't get lost, forget to do things for certain "campaigns", and so that you know what's working and what's not. You could easily use certain micro niches to test different techniques, as well.

You might also need to spend a little extra time boosting and maintaining several small sites instead of one larger niche.. but at least your entire business couldn't be wiped out in one fell swoop.

    Best to you,

There have been volumes written on exactly what you're talking about. When researching a possible niche it's obvious you need to look at the monthly searches for popular keywords. But you also need to search Goog's main search field with those same keywords to see how many competing pages there are and who your potential competition is.

Another clue as to how competitive the niche is will be how many sponsored links show up on the side of the page, somtimes a lot is good and sometimes a few is good depending on the market. All of this info will help you to determine how active the niche is and how hard it might be to get positioned near the front of the line. Good luck!

When I had to re-build my business online the first thing I did was create a blog about pretty much every topic that interested me. Gaming, mma, nutrition, pets, etc.

I fed each blog into a different twitter account and sat back.

Some of the topics are popular and produce results, others not so much..

Monetize the ones that "build on their own popularity" and replace the rest.

Either way try and pick things that interest you because it's a lot more fun.

Not to mention it makes content creation far easier if you are passionate about what you're writing about.

    Good luck!

a couple buddies of mine are doing well on micro niche adsense sites. they have about 200+ domains on various topics and their goal is to have each site make $5 a day. you have to do it on a mass scale in order to do well and of course, outsourcing is key.

Hmm, interesting... yeah I'd imagine it'd be quite an organizational chore getting traffic to 200 domains O.o

StevenR offers a free video course on exactly this. Steven makes a six figure income doing exactly what he teaches. This course was one of the best I ever participated in, and Steven is an excellent teacher. You can sign up for the course in his WSO, and you don't even have to give your email address until you have seen a lot of the videos.
