Default Best 'competition' keyword tools?

Hi guys,
a question about 'competition keyword' tools. By 'competition keyword' tools I mean something that give the number of web pages for the given search term or related terms.

I've used the Wordtracker tool for a while, but have given up the subscription, so I can't find any other good ones. Can you help me, please?

What other tools exist in the keyword market where you can give in a keyword term and see several keywords and the competition for the different search engines? I would mostly be interested in Google, but maybe also Bing and Yahoo.

Would be interested in both free and paid tools.

Thank you!

I am using Market Samurai. There is also Keyword Elite, but i didnt use it for a while. Both might do the trick depending on your needs. Also, good old Google keyword tool is not that bad either for simpler research.

Hi GoergR,
thank you for your reply.

I forgotten to mention in my previous post that I've already tried Keyword Elite. They have a 14 days trial period, and every time I wanted to look at the competition part, I had to wait for hours before the search was finished. I sent many emails/tickets to support, but it never got any better, so I gave up.

I've never tried Market Samurai, I shall try them a little while, to see what they deliver.
I'm looking for long tail keywords with not much competition, and I know Wordtracker have exactly what I require, but I've already unsubscribed, so I have to subscribe again.
I might do that, but want to first try out some other tools, that might be good, and maybe free or cheaper.

For a simple down and dirty tool I've been using the Micro Niche Finder keyword search tool for quite some time and like it well enough that I haven't considered switching. I'm hearing good things about Market Samurai, but at least for now, MNF serves my needs and I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

You might try comparing the features of the two and deciding which best serves your immediate and near future needs.

John

you get a trial for it but i think its about $150

its good because you can even check the top 10 sites of the competition for that keyword.

i prefer just using the adword tool though

Market Samurai is really that good Keivn2. It's worth every penny of the investment if you don't like doing keyword research the old fashioned way.

I prefer the old fashioned way of doing keyword research, but I still have a copy of Market Samurai. The software does much more than just keyword research.

$150? Wow..that is expensive for me..anyway thanks for your input.

So I guess it is no good for a newbie to start without buying any keyword tools since the google keyword tools is hard to use...

How good is it? How to use it? and which numbers should I take account and believe that it is a good keyword with low/high competition?

The keyword research portion within Market Samurai is FREE. You only pay if you want to use the other features also.

Many other tools take their data from wordtracker and only estimate real google numbers, so those will always be off. Other tools use Adwords external tool, but there is no information about competing pages etc.

MS is really, really good.

It has a lot of features - but you can do very SIMPLE but effective keyword research if you filter just using "search volume" and the value SEOC (seo competition), which means sites which appear in Google's index containing the search term.

This alone: GOLD <---

Get your keyword with like 500+ searches/day and less than 50.000 sites...almost a given this will rank easy as pie!!
