Was looking to get cracking at this Internet Marketing Stuff. I found that blogger flat out sucks to get indexed fast and for ranking in the SERPS. Who it the best place to buy your domain name from and then who would you recommend I host my site with if I plan to just upload a wordpress theme? Thanks. |

Blogger is actually pretty good for getting quick indexing (and by quick, I mean within a week) and ranked. That aside, my two favorite places for getting domains and hosting are: NameCheap.com - use AUTMNLEAVES for a discount on .com's Hostgator.com - I think the baby plan is perfect for beginners. |

Hello, do not get your domain name and hosting from the same place. There are many horror stories about this. I use gkg.net for my domains they are the best around. |

When I first got into IM everyone always talked about Hostgator non-stop. I used them for my first few sites and have had no problems with them at all. The online customer service is great, too. But they are a little pricey. Domains run $15 for a year, and the hosting package I'm using for most of those accounts cost about $10 a month. The last few sites I've set up, I've used Just Host. If you are able to pay for the whole year up front, it ends up costing less than $4 a month and your domain is free. I know paying for a whole year up front isn't in everyone's budget, but if it fits in yours, Just Host is definitely something you should look into. |

I like hostmonster. Did like Hostgator until I continually had problems launching sites that used the thumb.php script. Now I recommend Hostmonster. Namecheap is great for domains. No problems for me with Godaddy either, but don't buy hosting with Godaddy or Namecheap. Keep your domains and hosting separate.

I've found another factor on price is definitely where you are based - and want to run your system. For example, a .com if buying from a UK domainname provider is usually twice what I pay at godaddy...similarly a .co.uk can be had for about $5 in the UK itself but is around $20 from godaddy as they insist on a 2-year purchase. Don't be afraid to split the domain name and hosting purchases. |

I have to echo the the Namecheap and Hostgator suggestions. Always used them and never had a problem. Get the current discount codes for Namecheap by searching google. You can also get your 1st month on hostgator for $1. Customer support from Hostgator is second to none. Oh and don't forget the advice given above - never buy your domain and hosting from the same place - especially GoDaddy. Riz |

Namecheap and hostgator. Keep them separate. Coupons are everywhere, do a search to save some money.

Buying domains: namecheap.com I use them for all of my domain buying needs. Hosting: I use bluehost. I know lots of folks on here use hostgator, but I use bluehost and love them.

I set up a business account for a client on hostgator, and they have been very good, as well as refreshingly forthright when there were temporary technical problems. Hostgator has live technical support 24/7.

As far as a domain and hosting goes, I personally love GoDaddy.com for they have awesome customer service and offer a variety of options to suit your needs, but there are many others out there that are just as good. If you want to run your own hosting account then you also can run Wordpress.org if you wanted and many people like having the option of hosting their own wordpress blog.
