What next?
I know there are a lot of experts on this forum, so I'm just going to lay it all out on the table here, and ask for some help....ask you genii to guide me...
So I've been in the advertising industry for 10 years. I know the ins and outs of that industry, including how to succeed as a freelancer doing creative work, like graphic design for that industry or otherwise.
I've written a book which is probably one of the best things I've ever created in my life. And the initial reviews that are coming back confirm that I've created something truly great, original, and relevant.
I'm totally new to internet business, but figure I have a great opportunity to leverage my expertise, and 10 years of success into an online enterprise.
I'm just somewhat stuck as far as where to go next to build this into something I can live off of in the shortest amount of time. Here's what I've got so far....
I've got a simple squeeze page that is converting at about 30% (probably good enough that I don't need to mess with that right now): Set Yourself Freelance
I've got a sales page for my eBook, with some great testimonials from the first few readers that I gave review copies to: Set Yourself Freelance
My sales page looks good. The true test is obviously how well it converts, and I'm not getting enough traffic to it to really know yet.
I just got set up on aWeber, and I've written about 10 autoresponder emails so far. My autoresponders give really good value, and free content.
About two weeks into my autoresponder series I go into a little more of a hard sell for my eBook. (no one's reached that point yet, so I'm not sure how effective it will be at this point).
I'm getting a 30%+ open rate on my emails, which says to me that I'm engaging people at least to some degree.
Maybe the biggest thing I need is more numbers. I don't know if it's time to go into paid traffic generation, or affiliate marketing. It seems there are so many different methods and ways to go about this, and to be honest I am kind of overwhelmed and feel like I am at somewhat of a standstill. Right now, I am posting on forums and blogs, which is just growing the list a couple members at a time.....slowly, and I want things to happen FASTER!
I want to turn this into something I can live off of, preferably in the next few months. I know I have a great product, and a good niche that isn't totally tapped out. And most importantly I have something very valuable and unique to offer my niche.
I think it is just a question of how do I connect with my audience? I know I've got a great product. How do I get it out there? How do I build my community in the shortest time possible? What I need is a plan....
I just wrote "1,000 subscribers by year end" on my white board. That seems like a realistic goal. Question is, how do I get there?
I suppose I'm just laying it out on the table here... Where do I go next?
If you were in my position, what would you do now?
