Default Ebook Tools

I am very new at this marketing thing and figure I will need to learn how to do my own copywriting. From what I'm reading on the forum, it can be quite expensive to outsource plus the copywriters already have a full plate, so figure I learn to do this myself.

Can any suggest the best tools to put together an E book, regardless of the number of pages?

Do most of you use Microsoft Word and just save the file as PDF? How about graphics? I have seen some Ebooks that have pretty elaborate graphics? Do you need to use some Image Editor to come up with you own graphics?

Just would like to know where to start and how to go about creating an Ebook. I will figure out the copywriting part, wording, etc. myself, I HOPE!!

Thanks!

Do a search for Kevin Riley, he has an excellent course on the subject and even provides e-book templates.

For software, at least to start off with, I would suggest using Open Office, as it's free and converts to PDF.

MS Word, save as PDF, and use the first entry which came up on Google for "free ebook templates" as template.

I use a program for rendering covers too, forgot its name. There are plenty out there which create good 3d covers.

Edit: Got it, Box Shot 3d.

I also make heavy use of a program called "the logo creator", i usually go that way i use the logo creator and paintshop to design a cover, then render the 3d cover with BoxShot 3d.

You are going into a field that is very specialized! It is hard to make a GOOD converting landing page. You need to have a good bunch of schooling on human phsych. 101!!!! Not just think you know or can sell. It is a lot different then standard ads!

Very good stuff. I may take a look into it One option was to outsource the design of the Ebook cover. But if I can at least learn the basics of these tools that might be money better spent, especially when I do multiple campaigns.

Don't make it harder than it has to be. PDF's are incredibly easy to make nowadays. Download a free copy of Open Office (.org I do believe). You can convert on the fly to PDF. Free + Simple = No Brainer.
