UK Warriors publish on Amazon:Tax Problem

Hi,

Anyone got any experience of using Createspace.com to publish on Amazon?

I've spent ages formatting up a book, ordering the proof, it's all looking fine and dandy, then I find Createspace have a requirement for me to get a US Tax ID number.

OK - first thing is this will no doubt take weeks, and I want to get this book out now for Christmas!

Second, as far as I can make out the IRS expect me to mail my real passport over to Austin, Texas. Which I really don't want to do.

Third - Createspace say I need them to send me a letter stating my relationship with Createspace - I've emailed Createspace asking for this, had no reply back. It's been a week and time is-a ticking!

Has anyone else gone through this hurdle? Am I being stupid and missing something obvious? I'd love to get this book out this week!

They'll accept a certified copy.
