Hi house just looking around. I'm new here so I decided to poke around and ask a few questions. I am an affiliate marketer (a new one actually) and I am looking for threads on this site that can give me a few traffic tips and tricks. I have heard about seo (Search Engine Optimization) and Article marketing. Are these the only ways to generate online traffic? I need to know how to get huge traffic to my site. Thanks.

| SEO and article marketing could bring you tons of traffic if you do it right, I believe that if you follow this 2 steps and you can be doing it very well. It depends on what traffic you want to receive, referral? Direct? or Organic? If you tend to make money online from affiliate program, organic and referral would be the best traffic.

organic=direct from search engines referral=links on static sites Generating both is the preferred method for most. |

Organic traffic - visitors from Google, and other search engines. Referral traffic - visitors from your articles from many article directories. People who are REFERRED to your website from some other website. Depending on your niche, you can get lots of traffic by doing forum marketing. If you have some money to invest, buying banner spaces for advertising on various websites can be a goldmine. However, I would suggest first to test your pages by driving free traffic to them. So you know how they convert (if you are selling some product on your web page, how many people buy; if you are collecting peoples`email addresses, how many people submit their info, etc.). When you know your conversion %, you know how much you can pay for advertising, whether it`s banners or any other paid option. |

Posting quality articles is very helpful in generating traffic. You may also want to try forum posting, social bookmarking as well as blog commenting. And no spamming... |

Hi Celestine, I use both free and paid methods to generate traffic. Here is a starter list for free methods: 1. Create a blog or even better blogs(eg.blogger.com/Word press) about your business opportunity. 2.Make sure you put your referral links on the blog.Ping your blog at pingomatic.com and submit it to Technocrati and advertise it on free traffic exchanges(Traffic Swarm. Hit 2 hit etc.) 3. Write an article about your opportunityand post it for free on article sites e.g Enzines articles. Link it to your blog. 4. Submit article to free article submitters e.g Jetspinner 5.Join a free safe list and email your links. 6.Squidoo is free, so is Twitter and facebook. Try these for starters and see how you go. Dave |

There are three basic ways to get traffic to your site... > Buy it This would be things like pay-per-click ads and purchased banner ads. > Create it Here you are into search optimizing and such. > Borrow it Another poster referred to this as referral traffic. Article syndication fits here. I use the word syndication because article marketing seems to have split into two branches. One branch teaches creating a slew of articles with little regard to quality as long as a link or links can help with search result placement. It's more a form of link building than article marketing. The other branch teaches creating high-quality articles that other site owners will want to link to or republish on their own sites. This is the branch I'm calling syndication. Both can generate the results you want. |
