Is anybody doing Optin pages asking for JUST an email? (No Name) If so has it increased your optin rate Significantly? Also what about your Opens (Since you can't personalize email) Jack |

Jack, Seems to be the way of going now. I am seeing more and more marketers doing this with great success. Thanks, John |

I've seen a lot of people doing this, and everyone I've had the chance to ask about it says it's increased conversions. Since I think it's stupid to personalise emails with names, I'm going to be doing it that way myself. |

I ran a test a few months back and after over 2000 opt-ins, the difference in opt-in rate between asking for name/email vs just for email was too small to be at all significant. Interestingly, the marginally higher opt-in rate was from the form asking for both name and email. If you use aweber it's simple to setup a test. See what works best for you. |

Jay, That's interesting. I've never used only email for opt ins but it's the first time i'm hearing that persomnalisation of emails has a damaging effect on open rates. I take it you mean names in the subject line when you mention open rates. I think i need to test this. It just goes to show how important testing is. Riz |
