Default Audio recording on Mac

What do you guys recommend for recording AUDIO products on MAC?

I have Camtasia but that seems to be screencapture video and audio.

You can use Garage Band (included with iLife) which comes with your MAC. Other options are Audacity ( which Jay 284 mentioned) as well as Soundbooth by Adobe.

I'd recommend starting with Garage Band or Audacity first (because they're free). If you need something more you can always move to another solution.

Ha! For some reason, I always forget about Garage Band. It's one of OS X's most useful applications, but it always slips my mind!

Garage Band will definitely do the job you are looking to get done Blarian.

Yes, I use Garage band all the time. It's easy to use and easy to edit. You can also easily export the sound into something like iShowU which is an inexpensive (I thinks it's about $29) screen capture product to add sound to your presentation.

Garage Band is good. You might want to look into Ardour if you want to get serious about the engineering. It's free but the learning curve is steep.
