G'day,

I have heard that grouping onsite articles (posts) into categories in WordPress, that fall under the same umbrella, has the effect of increasing the size of your site.

As I understand it, when you include say 10 tags to each category with keywords that are closely related words or related words from your articles, Google counts each tag as another post.

So, if you have 5 posts, spread over a number categories & each category has 10 tags, Google will assume your site has 50 posts ie, 5 x 10.

Any comments??

Cheers,
Peter

I'm not so sure a multiplying effect would occur as all of the content would be duplicate content on the same domain and Google has stated pretty frequently before that they're not interested in "within-domain" duplicate content. They made a post on one of their corporate blogs last month regarding how to deal with duplicate content on the same domain. You can check it out here.
