Default don't know how to set opt-in in blog

Hello everyone,
I’ve got a problem with setting up my blog; I don’t know how to upload some of the stuff to my blog.
1. I don’t know where to upload my free report; and my e-cover I know everything goes into the public html, but after public html where do I go from here.
2. How to set up an opt-in box on my blog? I looked on youtube for this information, but they were not straight to the point.
Could someone please help me out with this problem?
Thanks Jerry

The answer isn't in the book you're advertising in your sig-file, then?

Jerry, I think it may help people to answer you if you can give a little more information. Such as (for starters) what sort of blog is it?! Wordpress, Blogger, something different?

Hello Alexa,
I see what you mean, I’ve got a book in my sig file create your 1st website, looking at now I feel a bit stupid for advertising this book, but there is no information on blogs in this book.
Alexa thanks for pointing out my mistake on not giving the whole picture, wordpress or blogger. It’s a Wordpress blog I’m working on, with my own domain and hosting,
Thanks Jerry.

Jerry one easy place to set your opt-in box is in your side bar area inside a widget "text box". Just place a test box in your side bar and your opt-in html inside this area.

Hi Jerry,

What I do is manually create a sub-directory within "public_html" and name it "images" and another one called "downloads".

I then place all my graphics files in the images directory and my downloads (like ebooks) in the downloads directory.

This helps to keep things sorted instead of having a whole bunch of files in the "public_html" directory.

When I need to reference an image or a download, I just link it to the right location, as follows:

domainname.com/images/imagefile.jpg
domainname.com/downloads/ebook.zip

Hope this helps.

John
