Default Does E-Mail Marketing Work?

I am not going to say it doesn't work, but I will say I don't know how it can work. I have 13,400 emails in one of my accounts right now and they all come up on one page. This slows my account down so I really don't have time to read all the emails I get each day because I am deleting emails trying to speed up my account.

I have been over 1,000 emails in my gmail account, but have it down to less than 800 now. If you are one of those people that thinks you can send out an email every day or over 2 times a week, I can promise you your email will be deleted from my account, because I don't have a choice any more, I have to keep the numbers down just to use my account.

I may be the only one, but I would be willing to bet many others are in the same boat I am in, so I don't think many of the emails getting sent out today get opened. One reason I believe this is because I don't send out many emails, but my open rate is less than 25%.

Don't misunderstand me I am not talking about a buyers list, but I really don't see how anyone is making money from sending out to a regular list if others are getting the amount of mail I get.

Good thing most of my subscribers aren't like you. I make several full time salaries from email marketing alone. My open rates are consistently above 40%.

I agree, about 75% of my income is from email, and I don't have that big of a list on any of my sites. still makes enough that I don't have to get a "real job".

The money is in the list. Email marketing works, if you do it right. I agree with not sending too many, and make sure they are full of good content when you do send them.

I have over 70,000 eMails in my main account right now. You just have to learn how to pick and choose what to read, and use the search function if necessary. It's generally not too hard to pick out the ones I am interested in.

The problem is the spam messages that come in (the 70k is not counting spam messages which are filtered out). Spam really interferes with things. Sorting out the spam (a couple hundred a day) is the most time-consuming part of eMail management.

I set up personal folders and use rules to make sure that e-mails from certain people go into a specific folder. The folder then shows unread messages. It helps quite a bit. Have to agree, Spam is a big time-waster for me, too.

I had over 4,500 emails in my Spam folder recently before Yahoo shut down that email account for some strange reason. I'm working with their support team to restore the account but they won't tell me why they closed it or when it will be reactivated. I actually miss having that account because I used it to study email marketing.
