Someone Stole My Ezine Article Without Giving Me Credit!

I was going through my google alerts for my keyword, and I ran into a blog that posted the first paragraph of my article as a post, with the same title that I used.

There is no link to my site, or to the Ezine Articles like the term and conditions say in Ezine Articles.

Will this affect my article and the website I am trying to rank for a keyword in anyway?

It shouldn't have a big impact on your rankings. That happens to me all the time. I have found 12 of my articles on other sites without my link.

And just so you know, Ezinearticles will not help you. You will have to try to contact the webmaster yourself.

Welcome to the "not-so-nice" side of internet marketing. Yeah, there are lazy, unscrupulous people that find it easier to steal another person's hard work than to show an ounce of creativity and actually write their own. As if leaving the resource box intact is going to really impact them that much .

These low-life's aren't worth bothering with, and you will waste valuable time trying to stop them - not to mention stressing yourself out over it. I have tried, believe me. Unfortunately, it is just something I have learned to accept as a cost of doing business.

It happens all the time. it sucks, but if it offends you, you will have to fight the webmaster.

I know it sucks to have this happen, but I've went through the process of trying to get the content either removed or have my link added.

In the the amount of time it took to get the problem taken care of (the probem was eventually resolved), I could have probably written 10 or so more articles.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...

Don't waste your time worrying about the thieves. Instead, invest your time into something more productive- like writing more articles.

I remember the first time it happened to me - MAN I was angry! but it does happen every time! So just don`t worry and work on what`s bringing you the money. Who cares about those people who steal the articles?? They don`t know how to make money anyways, so let`s not spend our precious time on thinking about this.

        Good luck!

If I was you, I'd do what Alex said. Dozens of people will steal your articles and never give back a credit.

So what? How many people copy movies and give them to their friends...

Don't waste your time with this stuff.

    Hi guys

sadly it happens to us all - ive had articles stolen a few times now and yes it is annoying but if you spent all your time chasing up on people that have ripped off your work you would never make any money online - whilst the other person would be earning from your work.

    kind regards

contact the blog owner, and first, politely, ask him to add a backlink to your site. Its a win-win situation since you will get a backlink...and the site owner got your content. It could be an autoblog and does NOT necessarily mean that the site owner has criminal intentions

Tell the owner if he doesn't put a link back to you in the article to remove the article, otherwise he doesn't have permission to use your article.

Otherwise what? There's no way to enforce copyright law on the Internet at this level so why waste the time on it?

I honestly don't understand people who invest so much time into an ultimately fruitless endeavour. Just spend the time doing something productive that will add to your bottom line.

      Cheers,

      Andy

Leave a comment on the blog saying it's your article and include all the necessary links to/from EZA.

I'm one of the people that does believe in fighting this - if we do nothing then the low lifes just think it is ok to nick stuff and not credit it. A while back I tried to contact a web owner about an entire article that was being used without the links. I finally contacted their web host, who took down the offending site until the site owner removed the article. She "claimed" it had been put there by an outsourcer.

I think it's best to forget the toe rags. They have no scruples, no imagination, no creative ability. They're just plain down and out thieves. They're just losers. Don't waste your time chasing after them. It is too time consuming. Just keep churning out more articles.

I guess it's always better to focus on the positive side of things rather than waste negative energy trying to chase someone (or many people) who stole your articles.

Always focus your energy on good stuff, and not the other way around.
