Default Building lists indirectly

This does work but its only as effective as the people you have on the lists. For example, if you build a rather large free advertising forum or free classified site you can build a pretty large list out of it, but it requires alot of work. Same is also the case if you use programs like Linkscout and other traffic exchanges to build lists. If you put in the time you can get good sized lists that are responsive and comprised of interested prospects. There are so draw backs with fake names and e-mail addresses that are rarely if ever checked but it comes with the territory.

Anything needs lot of work. There is no work around for it. Overnight subscribers, 10 million subscribers for $10.00 won't work.

Just develop a list as a side venture. Don't solely depend on it for income source.

I think a lot of people would disagree here

For Linkscout yes, but for everything else I just mass e-mail my members with special promotions and offers.
