Hey guys, I've been away from WF for a while, concentrating on other matters, including moving country! But I'm back now and here to contribute but may I ask a question if that is OK? I have a question about what is a sustainable way to make a living online and hoping that some of you can share your opinions? I made the transition from making spare change to making a living when I started to make Clickbank products (as vendor). Leveraging affiliates was the key. But I've also had affiliate marketing promotions before and since and still believe in it for diversification of income. But I've always reached a limit and not been able to scale it. Not long ago, I'd choose some good keywords and ezinearticles would provide a nice stream of converting traffic from Google. But these days, even if your keyword looks good, it is hard to rank high unless you also drive traffic to the article, mainly from social bookmarking, squidoo sites etc. Now allow me to say that I already find content creation boring enough (but doable for site content and articles). But the latter (social bookmarking, squidoo sites) I just find incredibly boring and soul destroying. I should add that I'm not at the stage where I can reinvest any significant amounts in outsourcing (although I can purchase good tools, services etc.). I just cannot see myself bookmarking my articles on EZA and writing Squidoo lenses, hubs etc. to them. Tried it and decided that this is NOT the way I want to make money on the internet. So what else is there left that is sustainable? I'm talking about generating some fairly quick, converting traffic within a matter of a couple of weeks max and making fresh $$$ from my efforts. I am not talking about getting only the SEO benefit and traffic within 3 to 6 months (I already have that covered and enjoy that from my old sites). I have re-energised my list building and enjoying the leverage, but here is a new idea I have:
Or do these sites promise a lot and fail to deliver (on the traffic front) and are really just for SEO benefit (backlinks) and lousy for traffic? I'd love to hear from people who have used these services for a significant period and what their experience was. And also anyone who can offer any insight into my "don't mind writing articles but hate anything else that rots the brain" mentality and the possible alternatives that are working for you! I'm sure I'm not the only one! ![]() thanks Chris |
