Hi I hope everyone is having a good day. I was wondering. How does someone create a service like 1and1 or Godaddy? What is required? And what would be the financial cost. Thanks. |

Wow that's really interesting. You now I've seen people selling domains on eBay EVEN! so you could create like a store or sort of thing like they do on amazon (since they give you a personal website store) and sell domains there. Or may be buy domains and set a up a website with all you have.... Jocy |

Hi Oje Are you considering setting up your own hosting company? That sounds like a massive challenge! I personally wouldn't even touch the idea - there are far too many experts doing it already and it's pretty cut throat. If you are thinking of making money out of hosting why not sign up as an affiliate for one or more of the big hosting companies. You'll make more money with no hassle, stress, customer management etc... Just a thought! Best wishes - Dave P.S. To set up and compete with 1and1 or Godaddy AT THEIR LEVEL I assume would cost hundreds of thousands if not more... |

Before you committed to something like that, I'd suggest your "test the waters" first by becoming a reseller for one of the large hosting companies. Most have a way you can resell for them. That way you could test your marketing methods for a while without having to invest much at all.

If one was to pick the reseller route for the time being, what would be the best method(s) for marketing? Anymore tips on the reseller angle? Thanks in advance |
