Think about the PHD guys and do not QUIT...

It takes 5 years or more to get a PHD. Pay so much money and then after wards look for a JOB.

This thought came to me this morning. Because my very caring husband suggested that I quit this IM stuff since it is so stressful and I am not making any money. Well he is doing a PHD! I reminded him that after the five years he has spent 90% of the time in the lab and the comp he still has to look for a job.

Three months for me on IM is very very short to give up. Even children do not stop crying at night after three months. Starting form my point where I had no idea what a simple blog is, I have come along way and maybe due to information overload and lack of focus I have not made money. TRUE.

My message is to people who are starting out with IM like me. There is a learning curve and it can be long or very short depending on your skills and how much you want it to work. It also depends on your focus level. Can you get something stick to it and if you know it is not working quit once you have exhausted it. Also get to know people who can help you.

But do not quit after three or six months when there is no money. Do not quit, find something that works one way or the other. This is my motto.

Now let me get back to work.

All the best to you all.
Grace

    You are absolutely right.

It took 10 months for me to make my first money online.

    You should not give up.

Yeah and for the PHD you need a bachelor and masters first so add six years for that.

It took my hubby six years to get his PhD. The biggest similarity between getting a PhD and succeeding in IM -- persistence! It's not as much about smarts as people think. Plenty of really, really smart people drop out of PhD programs because they just give up. Same can be said for IM.

    Hi Grace,

Yes, persistence is important. I think the seed of persistence is belief. Without belief, why would you persist?

Either way, I hope both you and your husband find much success and happiness in whatever you choose to do.

    All the best,
    Michael
