Twitter (auto-tweets) ?

I'm trying to determine if i should set up "auto-tweets" thoughout the day! Who uses this feature and how do you determine what tweets to set up? I'm somewhat new to twitter just trying to see if people are using this feature.

I use it often when I have a promotional compaign but you need also to monitor whats the response by your followers or they consider you as a spammer if you don't respond to them and talk to them personally via personalized responses or private messages

so we need to save some time without getting accused of spamming
