Is this doable? Here's the thing: I started a screen saver website but never promoted it or had time to get the traffic up. It comes with 150 screen savers that I paid money for and I don't have the time or interest to get the site rolling and making cash, and I don't want to get traffic to it, I just want to get rid of it! Could something like this sell or do you HAVE to have traffic before people will consider buying it?

Depends what you are flipping it for. What price point are you thinking?

I guess I don't know, a few hundred or a grand maybe, it has a lot of potential--but I realize that doesn't matter a whole lot when flipping in some cases.

I'm sure you could sell it, but really, how hard would it be to get at least a little trickle of traffic to it? Is it indexed in google yet? How old is it?

Maybe you could sell it as a turn key business, if everything is ready to go. However, if you have some income (or traffic) proof you could probably set a much higher price. | |

You could probably get a couple hundred for it, if the domain is good. Otherwise, drive some traffic to it before listing it. Unfortunately, "potential" doesnt translate into dollars.

The idea of positioning it as a turn key is a really good idea, that way no traffic/income is assumed or anything and they realize they just have to drive traffic to earn with it.. hmmm... Good ideas. @Charles, def. true potential doesn't = dollars, unfortunately for me |

I flip a lot of sites with little to no traffic. They are more of a starter site with content and a few images to get people started. They sell for $60 - $150 for the most part. If you have a sellable product for the site like an ebook or screensavers, that will add to the value. I am not sure what screensavers are worth or the package that you have, but that will help determine the resale value. And if they are unique, even better. |

I'm interested in this too... Where/How do you advertise the site you'd like to sell? |

The screensavers are probably worth more than the site. You could either split the screensavers into packs of, say, 25, and make 6 sites with different screensaver packs and sell them individually. Or you could sell 25 or so with the site and then offer more at an additional price. Can you sell resale rights to any of them? -David |

| Can you share with us the places (market places) where you actually flip a lot of sites with little to no traffic for between $60 - $150?

You can sell it but it may not sell for anything more than $300 ( that is if it is really very good). I sold a money making site for $1299 under 1 hour on flippa.com about 3 days ago but listed a very beautifully designed site with a very niche keyword research domain name ( I mean it ) and it is 2 days now and I have only got 3 bids the highest of which is $70.

Sites with no traffic are a dime a dozen these days. I've heard that even the prominent sellers are having a really hard time selling these startup sites. Looking through the listings, it's true. Most startup sites are getting few or no bids.
