Is it legal to use photos of videos of computer games to be used in a guide about that particular game? For instance they couldn't get mad if you used a photo of the game cartridge, just like BMW couldn't do anything if you took photo's of your car and put them in a manual. But TV/Film companies wouldn't want you using clips/photo's of their programs/movies in an info product... |

It depends. Some companies are OK with the idea, some aren't. Best advice would be to look on the company's web site and see if they have a policy, if they don't, e-mail them and ask their permission. If it means they'll sell more of the product or get fewer returns, they'll probably say yes. The worst they can do is say no -- provided you ask them first, that is.
