Default Can you call 'solicited' testimonials "Customer Testimonials"?

If you were to give away some copies of your product, in which you told them that a testimonial or review was optional, as I did, could you call them "Customer Testimonials" on your site?

Or is "Here are some reviews ..." more appropriate?

What do you think?

Hi Ashley,

To me, a customer is someone who buys something.

You could try wording like "Comments From Happy Readers" or "Comments From Satisfied Users".

All the best,
Michael

Steal a march from the big publishers, and call it something like "Early Reviews" or "Pre-Release Comments".

Strictly speaking, the people to whom you've furnished review copies are not customers, whether their reviews are optional or not.

In your disclosures, you can say that a handful of people received copies of the product before releasing it to the general public, but that their comments were neither required or compensated.

Tell the truth, but don't make a big deal of it. If you treat it as standard operating procedure, with nothing to hide, your prospects probably will as well.

Thanks Guys!

I think you are right, I will go with something that doesnt imply that they purchased it. Just a review.
