Classified Ads - Do you use them?

I've heard that running classifed ads in
my local newspaper can be profitable. Is
there anyone here who uses this method
that can offer a some insight?

I'm thinking about going that route
and would love the tricks of the trade.

Any help or ideas welcome...

Thank you!

The one good thing about classified ads it that they are getting real cheap because of the drop in Newspaper readership.

Honestly I think it would depend on the price point of your product and the niche in which it sits. Are you selling info products? Domains? Lawnmowers?

Think about whose reading classifieds and when they're reading them. I've always found more success in magazines because you can pick specific buyers in a specific niche, instead of just browsers. And if you can find out the ad deadline for a magazine and squeeze one in there right at their deadline you can get HUGE discounts... Has worked for me in the past, and usually with products with a higher price point! Hope this helps,

    Safe Travels,

When it comes to classified ads, many online marketers use only Craigslist. It would be a good idea to try offline classifieds if you are selling a physical product.

  • Offline classified could be tricky. The best thing to do is look for papers or magazines that circulate in your area, other than the main newspaper. Newspaper rates are too high, whereas some of the locally distributed "free papers" have cheaper rates and more active readers.
