First sale from BUM marketing just made...

Hey folks,

I wanted to post and let you all know that I just made my first sale from BUM marketing this past Saturday (11/21). I currently have 9 articles on Ezine Articles (and others). My article views on Ezine Articles as of 11/23/09 is 1,428 with 189 URL clicks.

It took 3 weeks to land a sale in this niche and now a couple of my articles are on the first page of Google. Nice!

The affiliate commission is $31. I was pretty stoked to see this happen. After getting burned with other methods (PPC and SEO) I'm just going to stick with article marketing for the next 60 days and track my results.

It's free and I can publish one article a day. Once I have 25 live articles in one niche, I'll exploit another.

Anyway, just a post of thanks here because the WF has been a big help in getting me to do article marketing.

There is a lot of talk about sending links to your articles on the directories...did you do any of that?

Hey Shane,

Did you redirect the link to your affiliate link? Because I tried doing that and got burnt. How did you managed to place your affiliate links that bypass the editor's scrutiny?

I bought a domain name from GoDaddy and have it re-directed to my affiliate link. That is alright with Ezine Articles TOS and they are the strictest.

Ewen, As for the linking I really don't know how to do it. But I will learn how.

Congratulations on your first sale, but you're getting about 13% CTR which is really low. Just imagine if you had double that (which isn't hard); you could be on your second sale! You should look into increasing your CTR before you write another article. This forum has tons of information on writing a great resource box.

Personally I'd suggest spreading out a bit more. What about writing 5 articles each for 5 niches, and then seeing which ones take off and which ones flop. This would give you more eggs in baskets to see where the good money is?

Experience in writing and submitting shows you stuff that people don't talk about....niches that convert on EZA and also get traffic. The only way to really find those golden eggs is to make sure you dig in different spots.

And also, study the articles that are getting more hits and rewrite and branch off of them. That's so great you made a sale!!!

That's awesome Shane! I remember when I made my first sale with adwords (a $50 commish on a forex product) very cool feeling.....keep it going!

Congrats on your success Shane! Make sure you submit your EZA RSS feed to every free RSS directory you can - especially FeedAgg, FeedAge & Yahoo! (just sign up for a Yahoo! email acct. & submit the RSS feed to the '+Add Content' tab on the My Yahoo! page). Also study/analyze your author's report for the article(s) generating the most views & URL click-thrus and build backlinks to those articles.

I would also read every bit of Terry Kyle's excellent backlinking experiment thread:

Whatever you do, just keep at it
