Hi, I have about $100 to start doing affiliate marketing, I'm looking to see what I should invest it in.

So, if you had about $100 to start affiliate marketing would you

A) Spend some on a webhost/domain
B) Buy ready-made site templates
C) Buy an ebook, such as Chris Rempel's Confessions
D) Save the money
E) Other

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

I would use it for Hostgator and domain names only.
Everything else one requires can be found for free.

Sorry, this may sound a tad stupid, but what are backlinks and how do you get them?

Well, Peter A-C is a good way to start. You might want to look into the conduit method for starters instead. It's a bit cheaper to get started with, although results can take a bit longer.

You can really make 100$ can go a long way. Do some keyword research first of course before you decide on a domain name and host.

You can always use a free wordpress blog for a template for now.

Once you figure what niche to market to, spend the money on things to make getting back links easier for you. Things like a websubmitter and article distribution service.

Back links are what will make your online business succeed long term. Start adding them up now and you'll be better off down the road.

Or, you could carefully invest in PPC advertising.

    Best,

        Hi Peter
If you are a total newbie, I'd save some money to get hosting & a domain a bit later when you know what you want to do.

Yes you'll find everything you need for free on the internet, but making sense of it when your new is virtually impossible, especially when you'll have trouble with the lingo. The info wont all be in one place, you'll have to decifer it all, determine it's relevance & try to implement it all in some kind of system - a total nightmare for a newbie - I'm speaking from experience here.

No need for PPC yet, there are plenty of other free ways to generate some quick traffic.

I'd recommend getting ONE CHEAP EBOOK - but it needs to be one that is highly recommended for newbies & proven to work - quickly & cheaply.

Please don't start a habit of jumping from one thing to another - get one product & work thru it systematically until you have mastered it and are making money or have decided that its not for you (don't decide this until you have gone from beginning to end -or you'll be cheating yourself).

Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate is absolutely brilliant & incredibly cheap, considering just how much info Chris pumps into this beauty. It's easy to read & just as easy to follow until you have your own profitable site up and running.

I love google's keyword tool - its free & is really easy to use. It's not a bad place to start if you have no idea about a niche market.

Start there & type in "how to" or "get rid of" or "buy" "clean" "fix" "repair" "learn" - something that suggests people are searching, ready to buy something, or they are desperate for a solution to their problem. When you find something interesting then type that keyword phrase into the keyword tool. keep doing this until you find something you can work with.

If you buy Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate, you'll have plenty of money left for webhosting & a domain (you should get a free domain when you buy hosting).

        Good Luck
