Well, after submitting a my 3 year old, completely clean website and blog to EPN in the hopes of approval, the eBay partner network rejected my application without being too specific as to why I was not accepted. My intention was to setup a few phpBay sites, based on some niche market research that I have been doing lately. I have already purchased some niche domain names (expired domains, nicely aged with pre-established backlinks). I was waiting on EPN approval before putting much more work into these sites. So, with my rejection letter in hand, I suppose I have a choice to make... Should I: A) Scrap the whole plan and move on to other ideas? B) Reapply with the same website? C) Build a completely different website and reapply with that one? D) Use my existing Amazon affiliate account to proceed with my plan? E) Insert your own answer here: ____________________________ If anyone wants to see what see the website I used to apply with, it is: aspencomputerservices(dot)com My website gets anywhere from 25 to 30 hits per day, so it's not a real traffic magnet, but it does okay. Before I applied, I removed all banners and took out any affiliate links in the text. I also upped my domain registration up to 2015, because I heard that EPN likes to see a longer registration. If anyone can tell me why they think my website failed the inspection, please let me know. Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the reply. I've thought about whether or not to use EPN anyway, since they recently changed their policy concerning the "quality" of the clicks. I just liked the idea of being able to review a product, and then list auctions that contain the product. Powerful combo. Belonging to the EPN seems almost essential if you're trying to find a niche with ultra low competition and hard to find products. Amazon isn't going to have as much of a selection. Overstock, either. |

Hi, First off, I understand this is your business website. So at first glance (and that's about all you get with EPN), there's no obvious connection to eBay products. I see a lot of services, but nothing that would lead me to buying something on eBay. Second, your whois info is a little strange, with the registrant listed as N/A and Powweb as your technical contact. Any way to clean that up? You could try fixing the whois and asking for a reevaluation, also making sure they understand your business plan. If that doesn't work, you could go with a different website that you create for that purpose. |
