Text to speech software that sounds real?

Hey Warriors,

I'm looking for some text to speech software that sounds like a real human being.

Any suggestions?

  • I have been using the free download from NaturalSoft just to test it (Free text to speech software with Natural Voices-- Free NaturalReader) . Its okay not fantastic but it is tolerable. I am guessing the paid version will be a lot better. There is a demo for it as well I just have not tried it yet.
If you find one that works better please let me know too.

Get a real person. No really you wont find anything thats like a real voice. I have several programs and have tried all the so called best voices out there and there are some that are pretty good but still nowhere real.

I use TextAloud which even has a plugin in for FF to read web content and its good.

All the voices will lack any emotion or tone changes but depending on what you are doing it may be doable.

I was going to use it to convert ebooks to audio but no one liked the voices...

I've seen couple videos that are using the same text to speech voice and it sounds pretty believable. I'm not 100% sure it's a text to speech voice but it kind of sounds like one so it must be.

There was a Warrior here who used it in a recent launch. I'll try to remember and post here if I find it.
