Default How to sell my first micro niche website blog?

A post in the War Room has lead me down a good road.
I hope someone can help me and maybe can use this.

I am making my first micro niche site with the hopes of selling it on flippa.com for a good price.

I first hopped on Search-based keyword tool and searched through the categories on the left to see what type of keywords are the hot keywords people type into Google, and that site only gives hot keywords of things people buy on Google.

I then went on Market Samurai and typed in a sub niche keyword I found at the site above, and found low competition, high traffic keywords immediately.

I targeted my main theme keyword following the steps outlined in the War Room Thread and I picked 9 category keywords.

So far I have posted 4 post up to 500 words no less than 400 words. I immediately wrote various versions of each post and put them on web 2.0 sites like:
sribd.com squidoo.com hubpages.com wordpress.com blogger.com and weebly.com linking to my site with the anchor text of the keyword I was using.

I also inserted each of those links into my traffi-bug.com account for rss submissions, search engine submissions, and back linking.

The site was built on Nov. 14

So far I am #129 broad position. I am #52 with quotes.

I have received traffic but only like 4 or 5 people and no adsense clicks.

Should I continue down the road I am going?
Is it a good idea to post several versions of my article to those social media sites for ever every post I make?

Will my site sell for more if I do this, even if my site never gets on the top 10?

Once again, Thank you Trevor for making that awesome thread in the War Room, we appreciate it. It is because of people like you, that help people like me take action.

Hey there!

I'd build the site up a ways before selling it so you can get all it's worth. A couple traffic tips...

1) I would re-write the article and submit to ezine after your site, after ezine approves them submit to at least 5 other directories. GoArticles, article dashboard, article base, article alley, amazines, etc are all good ones. In each article, link back to the ezine version with one link and your site with the other.

2) Take each article over to free traffic system and spin it/choose 30 blogs to post it on... This will give you a nice trickle of links to both your site and an article(s) of your choosing.

Obviously it can be hard to do everything at once but I'm starting to see results from thsi method and plenty of others I've heard of having success with it. If you think about it, if you wrote 100 articles on a topic. You'd have the following:

=> 100 unique posts of content on your site
=> 100 EZA's (all getting traffic to your site through a good resource box
=> 500 articles out there (that's low balling it and saying they're only on 5 directories.
=> 1000 backlinks (2 in each article)
=> An additional 6000 backlinks from FTS due to 2 links per article on 30 blogs each.

Now, I bet you if you actually work to put out this volume, you'd have a REALLY hard time not making sales and skyrocketing the positioning of your site.

I'm not a War-Room member (yet!) but hopefully this can tie into what you're doing.

Best of luck,

- Brandon

In my opinion, since the site not yet generating income, you should continue that. If you sell that now, it will only sell for low price.

Yes or no. If you mean that you bookmarked your site in web 20 sites, its fine, but if you republish your articles exactly as is on those web 20 like you mentioned above, it shall work, but a recommendation is to rewrite it first.

Make money from the site first, then sell for higher price.

Hey, I don't do any site flipping but the kind of traffic that could bring you would most definitely result in A) sales while you own the domain and B) A much higher value when flipping (sorry, don't have specifics)

You probably won't get much more for it than you can get right now unless you can get it to make money. Sure, getting more traffic to it makes it more valuable but not as much as if it is profitable.

Once you get it earning money, the longer you hold onto it (assuming it keeps earning) the more you will get for it.

So, if you are not looking for a long term investment then you might find that selling it right now is a better deal for you then doing all the work to write more articles etc... and then trying to sell in a couple of weeks as you might not make that much more for your effort.

I hope that makes sense....

The easiest way to get a site earning when you're newish to the game is to keep it simple. Just post post post and social bookmark everything you write. OnlyWire is a great free tool to get your social bookmarking going. You can also get a Twitter account started and tweet your articles, as well as using it to build relationships so you can get people's attention.

If you are using Wordpress, make sure you have a good ping list setup as that will help bring traffic. If you are not using Wordpress, you can ping your articles manually via http://rpc.pingomatic.com

Depending on your niche, you also don't have to depend on Adsense alone to get revenue going. I've found Amazon & Ebay to be great when you write about a product inside your posts themselves. I've also found them the easiest programs to start earning with, even if they don't leap up to huge amounts of payment straight away.

Niche specific affiliate programs, in my experience, seem to pay better than any of the above. If you can find a promotion that is directly related to your niche, you may find you have good results after you start getting enough traffic to drive conversions.

Before that point, I would definitely look at including Amazon, and especially Ebay as it only takes a few click out of curiosity for you to crack the ice and start earning.

Some earnings, even if only a few dollars, is profoundly better than selling a site with no earnings. When a buyers looks at a site with no revenue, there's every chance it will never make money and they have no proof that it will. If it has some revenue, even just a little, then they have proof that the site works and they know all they have to do is scale up the operation.

Good luck with your site!

I've sold over a dozen brand new sites on flippa from between $97 - $147 in the last couple of months, and one blog too.

The thing with flipping websites is you gotta create them fast and sell as much as you can, if you need cash fast.

If you're not in a hurry for money, then take some time to generate traffic and income, then you'll obviously get more money for it.

Either way, it's a good business.

Say I wanted to make a quick buck,

can I get $97 to $150 for it if there is a market for it?

Yes, but there are a lot of "it depends" factors to consider.

Without going into them all, the best thing to do is go to Flippa and look at the Recently Sold sites. That will give you an idea of what people are looking for.

Then, also go to the Ended Unsold area, and that will give you an idea of what not to do.

By the way though, you can get just about any site making some revenue within the first week, give or take. It won't always be heaps, but if a week is still within what you would call a "quick" timeframe, then your "buck" will be a lot bigger.

For me the value in a site is targetted traffic. If there is little or no targetted traffic it has little value to me (may differ for other people).

From what I have seen, the microniche sites don't sell so good on Flippa.

That being said, after 3 years of flipping sites I can say that it seems the biggest factor is the niche - if the buyer connects with it, they will buy. Most people buying brand new sites are not that savvy about IM. They know they want to make money online and they know they need a website but they don't really know how to evaluate one. So, they buy what appeals to them. I think that's why the micro-niche sites don't do that good as they are too narrow.

I've only tried 3 or 4 of them though so maybe I didn't test enough.

On the other hand, any site that is making money will likely sell. One that is not making money might take a few tries. Like Kezz said, there are a lot of "it depends" factors.

You might try selling here at the WF - I sold a bunch of them here in two different batches and sold out all 20 between here and my list. I think the buyers here know more about microniches so maybe they sell better. Plus it costs a bit less to list them.

I have a site at lasermoleremovalsite.com, it is a niche site promoting acne/mole treatment. This site has managed to get on first page google, number 10 actually for the keyword laser mole removal, without quotes. But the real problem is, I don't get any sales yet, the adsense click is far from success, 1 click per week on average.

I'm planning to sell this on flippa but does it really worth to do that?

Cutting it short, site built on nov 14. So its almost a year. it would hardly take 1 month or 2 to rank a microniche site on page 1, depends on how well you do the on-page and off-page optimization.

What you should do;-
1> Rank your site for your targeted terms.
2> Get organic traffic and try to generate revenue. If you could generate additional revenue through affiliate program then its a added bonus which help you to sell your site at more high price on flippa.
3> Get your site listed on flippa, with all necessary documents to convince the buyers.

If you personally can rank your site on google following the new trends of google after panda update then just do it, as time = money else hire someone to rank your site on google. You are on your way to sell your site on flippa.
