Just snooping around to learn new tricks

I'm new to warrior forum although not entirely new to the world of internet affiliate marketing. I have learnt a lot over time especially about blogging and pinging and I think I am doing quite well using blogger as a platform for my blogs. My sites have been indexed but no much traffic yet. I really want to make a sale on my affiliate products and google adsense but I have been told that if I buy traffic google may ban me from their program. Is this true? If it is then what other means can I use to generate traffic without risking being banned by google?

Social Bookmarking
Social media (Twitter and facebook rocks for blogs btw)
RSS distribution
VIDEO distribution (get yourself out there and they'll come)

If you wanna keep it cheap and easy - the right buying keywords in an Ezine Article works a treat but that's not necessarily the best long term strategy. That was pretty much how I made my first sales online.
