Forum Marketing: Number frequented + On or Off Topic?

Happy Tuesday, folks!

I'm curious to see how many (if any) actively post and on how many, regularly?

Sub-question - Do you find that you have higher success rates using on topic (business related forums) or off topic (not business related forums)?

Sheesh, anybody?

Currently, I make my rounds a few times a day to 5 different forums. Of the 5, in order of most hits, this one and another business related forum send the least amounts of traffic.

It has to be done very good without abusing the forum. You want to contribute and just see where it goes.

  There are tons out there, but it begs the question. Is it more effective to target business related forums or more leasurely topic forums?
