Is this lazy or what?

So I was contacted by a site owner who owns an adsense review site.

He said that if I provided him a review of our product he would put it up on his site no charge. lol

Is this what review sites have come to?

That marketers are getting so lazy that they can't even be responsible enough to handle their own reviews they put up on their sites themselves or to have them outsourced?

Getting content like articles or PLR is one thing but reviews in my opnion should be handled by the site owner who intends on publishing the content on their review sites.

If I were to review a product or service to put up on my website I would either write the review myself or have one of my outsourcers on my team write it for me.

How would you handle reviews put up on your sie?

P.S- I don't really consider adsene a real review site in my eyes. What do you think?

I'm not surprised if a site owner asks for a review, isn't internet marketing all about doing things the lazy way?

Personally, I would write it myself or outsource it. But if the product owner provided one, I would rewrite or at least tweak it a little.

I'll match that. Give me the product, write a review, send some cash and a fruit basket, and I'll have my guy put in on a review site. Second thought, if you don't mind I'll just send you the URL and you can post the review after I get the goodies.

Frank, that's shocking. And kind of rubbish. I guess someone has gotten a little fat off affiliate sales...

Hmmm. On the one hand it gives you free exposure written in a way that has to be favorable to your product because you wrote it - viewed this way he's doing you a favor so to speak. On the other hand, a reader at his site would/should be able to see the vast difference in writing styles and products that are promoted that are just crap (not saying yours is btw) - viewed this way he's doing you a great disservice. Either way I'll wager he's looking for that affiliate commission and figures the best way to get it is to let the product creator write the review. It maybe lazy, but it's also mercenary and without regard for his readers. I wonder what kind of a trust factor/relationship he's building with his visitors...

Thanks for your comments. On this particular site its adsense driven so there will be no affiliate commission unless offered.

I guess when he said he would not charge me to write my own review and post the review on their adsense site it didn't sit well with me.

A true review site in my opinion they would do an actuall review on their end like many marketers do here on this forum.

Its interesting to read how other marketers feel about this though...

I think comment should be done by the customers, but not the owner of the website.
