Default Camstudio and Vegas Integration-Im Bummed

Ok warriors I need you to help me stop wasting time and money! I've been at this all day long

I have come to my last resort when it comes to the Camstudio and Sony Vegas integration. I figured there are people here who use these tools to do their videos for their online marketing as well. Im having some technical difficulties.

Ok here we go. I've recorded all of my Camstudio videos using these settings

"Camstudio Lossless Codec v 1.4"

Quality at 100

Set Key Frames at 200 frames

Capture Frames every 5 milliseconds

Playback rate 200 frames/second

Max Framerate 1 Frame/per minute

My fixed regions are 800 x 600

Note: These are very great settings!

Im using Sony Vegas Studio 9 and when I'm inserting my videos, some part of the clips are fuzzy. I just need a step by step blueprint on inserting my camstudio avi video into vegas, proper settings and rendering. I think I have searched everywhere for the information I'm needing, but no luck.

Your help will be greatly appreciated!!

Jeff

Don't know if this will help, but there's a great thread here:

Josh Anderson's posts in there may be helpful.

what do you mean 'some part of the clips are fuzzy', is part of the image fuzzy or does the video go fuzzy after so many seconds?

Does the video play perfectly in something like VLC player?
Lets assume the video recorded perfectley.

Get a copy of Format Factory :Format Factory - Free media file format converter

Try recoding your video into different formats.

I find that encoding a video as an avi using mp4 divx codec for video and the audio as AAC gives the best results.

Change to Microsoft Video 1 instead of the Camstudio lossless.

Also, watch the video Josh Anderson posted in the thread that SuzanneH posted above. It's in response #29 and he shows you setting that should get you straightened out.

Hey Jeff,

Sorry to hear your pain. I have many clients that run into this exact issue. As well, Josh and I have created a product that goes over these screenshots and settings that we're finally releasing in early December.

Basically, your settings are mismatched. I would recommend recording your Camtasia at 29.97 frames a second (or whatever frame rate your video editor settings are at) and NOT 5 milliseconds as there is no setting in video editors to have a 5 millisecond timeline.

The next thing I would do is set your video editor to having your project and export settings set to PROGRESSIVE video and NOT Interlaced

The next thing I would do is export your Vegas video using the SAME codec that you used when you were recording.

If any of the above settings are mismatched, then you're chances are much higher of having blurry video from Sony Vegas or any video editor.

On a side note, don't feel like you are the only one that runs into this. It is a major problem many run into.

Very best,

Scott

Thanks everyone and appreciate that Scott! So what you're basically saying is that all the videos I have captured at 1 frame/sec are no good? I have to redo them in camstudio at 29?

Also where do I go to set my video to have my project? And when you say export you mean "rendering" correct? I have found that rendering takes foreeever too lol.

Thanks in advance!

Jeff
