Default Question about google trends

How do you get around the problem of using subdomains to put up a quick landing page or whatever when it can take up to 72 hours until a subdomain is propegated.

I use a reseller account at hostgator.
When I use the WHM tool provided with the reseller account to create the subdomain, I find that it is propagated within an hour most times. The DNS server you point your computer to can affect how long you have to wait to see the propation as some DNS servers update quicker than others. You can specify manually on your internet connection which DNS server you point to if you think your ISP has a tardy one. Also consider rebooting your router or computer if you think it is caching some of the DNS entries.

Hope that gives you some ideas.

Thanks Jeff. I was hoping there was a less complicated answer lol. I use Vodahost because it allows me to throw up a landing page in minutes with their free bluevoda website builder and publish it with the click of a button.

Have you been finding that it takes 72 hours before you see your subdomain or did you just read that somewhere? DNS is updated pretty quickly these days. Do an experiment and check it out yourself. Most places warn it may take a few days to cover their butt but it often takes just a few hours.

Hi Jeff, I created a subdomain in cpanel this afternoon and published a landing page. It's still not showing. All I get is a page from c-panel sayin:
Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server

That sucks. I'd go crazy if I had to wait more then a couple of hours.

This is apparently the problem:

Sub-domains cannot "share" a SSL ... if you have installed an SSL on the Main Domain, any sub-domain is being rendered inaccessible due to the server path.

An Add-On domain may have an SSL installed (since it is directly installed onto a Domain name - a sub-domain does not have a unique URL as does an Add-On), but it requires a special SSL cert type, and can only be done with permission from and assistance by VodaHost Support, upon request.

I was going bananas yesterday. But I have an old domain that I use now. I just set up the landing pages linking to that index. Works just as well for CPA offers. Obviously, I can't use them in PPC campaigns, but for article marketing purposes they do just fine. As a matter of fact, I have made a nice couple of $$ using one of them today.

Thanks anyway Jeff, you're a diamond
