I just went through my old emails to see what I have bought in the past and what memberships I had joined. I always keep the emails I receive when I buy something or join something. Guess what? From what I have checked so far, I have found one, let me repeat that... ONE site I had joined back in early 2006 that was still active. It was the ClickBankSuccessForum.com that is run by Harvey Segal! That tells me that Harvey is a guy who cares about his business and created something for the long term. Of course there is also the warrior forum and that says a lot about Allen. But what about the rest? If I hadn't been around this business for a VERY long time, I would be thoroughly discouraged to see that all these other businesses had disappeared. So, let me ask everyone who reads this thread to give me YOUR opinion on why this happens. Is it because of the economy... I don't think so. Is it because the other people became so hugely successful they just didn't need the money anymore... mmmmm, probably not. Is it because they were just in it for a quick buck... maybe. Was it poor planning... possibly. What do you think the reason is? |

I think it's because far too many don't treat their Internet marketing as a part of a real business. They come on, make a bunch of money, faffle off to do something else. I believe in building a real business, with a line of products, and using the Internet as a marketing tool.

I am still a member of many site which I bought when I came online, they are still active today as they ever were. Many through the WSO are closed within a month or two because the person moves onto another thing. Some sites get closed because they were designed that way. |

Not suprised. The internet changes, what worked before, does not work now. Few will make the on going effort to stay innovative to keep there members up to date on IM. The get busy working on there business, not realizing that keep content updated is a important part. |

There have been some "lifetime memberships" that I acquired through WSOs that didn't make the second month. And, quite a few that fizzled out within 3 or 4 months. Generally, I noticed that anytime someone sells lifetime memberships for a one time up front better sign up quick fee, they don't last long at all. Human nature.

Well, not all of Allen Says' sites are still up. Joyner had at least two sites that SHOULD have stayed up, but DIDN'T! And at least one of Joyners sites was VERY tied into a LOT of other systems. I am shocked it didn't get more press. Google STILL shows 51000 sites that STILL link to it! It was eventually sold to a company, YEARS ago, and they basically DESTROYED IT! THOUSANDS of products, sites, etc... depended on it, and NOW they FAIL! As for lifetime sites, MOST people, especially NEW ones, don't realize that they DO take some effort, etc... Anyway, there are too many reasons for a site going down. 8-( Steve |
