Because when people type in their search query, sometimes they spell it wrong. And there is a train of thought that you can get lots of traffic by going after misspelled key words.

EZA will reject an article if there are misspelled words in it, but that is not to say that you can't use the misspelled words in the key word section. But I can't say for sure about that as I don't know for sure if they do a spell check on that slot or not.

Even if they accept it, I wouldn't recommend it. It will hurt you in the long run. Poor spelling and grammar will make you look like an amateur author who just scrabble some content together.

Speaking of misspelled keywords, I get tons of traffic (and sales) from them each and every single month.

Thank you all for the replies. The reason why is I asked is because a lot of people misspell certain keywords when searching, and this has lots of traffic potential.

Using poor spelling, or bad grammar or foul language can never help you when you are trying to promote anything. The people that don't mind it, will not mind if you use proper grammar and spelling and don't use foul language. But the people that do object will definitely notice if you do use it. So you can only lose by using it.

Once you have offended someone, it is hard to overcome that. So it is always better to not offend, then there is nothing to worry about. When I see poor grammar and such, I think twice about doing business with that vendor. I don't really know why, but I am just turned off. It is not that hard to use too, rather than to, or their rather than there, and is payed really a word, I always thought it was paid. Simple mistakes that just look bad and make a poor impression.

Those of you telling the OP not to use misspelled words are missing his point. He WANTS to target that misspelled word.

I will tell you that I have consistently made $300/mo. for the past year from targeting ONE misspelled word.

Can't answer your question about EZA since I don't use them, but I wanted to chime in and say that targeting misspelled words can be a profitable strategy.

This can absolutely be a profitable strategy.

I would stay away from making use of it on EZA or an article directory that you might be trying to establish yourself as an authority, but if you're drip-feeding articles thru UAW or some mass article submission service, slip a few in! You won't have much trouble ranking for the misspelling, and if you feel self conscious about it, then whip up a pen name to do your misspelled submissions under.

I disagree that it logically follows that it will hurt you, especially if you're just doing it to build links and not mixing those types of submissions in with whatever sites you're focused on becoming an authority figure on.

It's a market that not terribly many tap into (much like the offline market, and several others), and as such, there's enormous potential and limited competition.

Would I base my entire strategy on the grammar skillz of others? Of course not. But as an augmentation strategy...why not?

There's essentially no downside (especially if you use a sep. pen name, which takes, what? Thirty seconds to set up?)

Do it, absolutely. BUT dont submit those articles to any directories.
Put them on your website/blog.

Unless their editor is asleep at the switch, they will reject it. I suggest other areas where you could work your misspelled word tactic such as a Wordpress blog. You can also do some on page misspelling but keep it to a minimum or your site will look unprofessional. Good luck.

You can't put misspellings in your article tiel - but you could put something like this in the article body:

When considering the virtues of blue widgets over green widgets (which some people mis spell as bllue widgets or green widdgetts) then . . .

That will get your misspelling in the article body - and may get you somewhere for that keyword.

Hope that helps

Why not put the article on your own site. Misspellings don't get a lot of competitor so you don't need the page authority ezine articles has.

For the benefit of those who don't believe that there's a "market" to misspelled keywords, please watch video #1 of my Misspelled Goldrush product.

You don't have to buy the rest of the product ... I really want you to invest 9 mins to discover something.

Cheers!

Other directories might, but EZA certainly don't
