Default Happy Thanksgiving, and I could Use Some Advice!

What are some of your favorite methods for getting traffic to a website or blog? This is a blog that is filled with high-quality content. The content is not organically search engine optimized, nor will it be.

RSSBot and SocialBot are already being used, and the links to each blog post are being tweeted.

The emphasis right now isn't on making money with the blog. In fact, that will never be the main emphasis. That being said, traffic is only trickling in, and the blog's owner would like to know how to increase it.

I'm going to help him with SEO articles submitted to directories when I can. Any other suggestions?

I am confused ... "the content is not organically search engine optimized, nor will it be" - ummm, how do you expect to get traffic without any SEO?

The site owner wants to increase traffic, but not make any money from the blog? Why increase traffic then?

That does not make any sense to my foggy brain today. But I will recommend:

Submitting to RSS Directories
Submitting to places like My Blog Log and Networked Blogs on Facebook
Try Yahoo Answers
Article Marketing
Social Bookmarking

Writing SE Optimized Titles/posts for your blog, is one of the easiest ways to get traffic ... if he has no intention of doing that, I can't really see where he thinks the traffic will come from.

Wigify - find new affiliate programs for physical and digital products.

He doesn't necessarily want to make a lot of money from the blog, but he does want to share the content with as many people as possible...hopefully build a reader base. He's certainly not against monetizing, and hopefully that will come in time. Having people read what he has to say is the main goal. I realize that SEO is the best way, but he'd rather just write and not worry about inserting certain words or phrases in his content. I was just wondering what others thought were the best non-SEO traffic methods. It's already being submitted to RSS directories.
