Default How To Market my New Website?

Hi. My name is Tim and I am a 24-year-old music producer from New Jersey.

My website is now finished and it is up and running online. It can be found at:

http://openmindsentertainment.com

(I have no intentions of spamming in here, but I would like to share my link so that fellow Warriors can have a better understanding of my site and can help to answer some of my questions.)

Basically, I make music instrumentals and sell (lease) them to artists. The artist then records their vocals, and puts the finished piece on a demo cd, album, etc.

I understand that there is a ton of info on this site...probably pretty much all I'll need to acquire a firm grasp on marketing my site.

What I am unsure about is how to begin everything. I know a little bit about marketing concepts such as forum marketing, article writing, SEO, PPC,etc. I just need to know where exactly to begin with a brand new site.

Is there a certain order in which I should do things? For instance...should I make sure my site is fully optimized for search engines before I start forum/article marketing? Should I submit my site to a lot of search engines, or just the big ones?

Any info to help get me started will be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Tim

Use the services or Article Marketer and begin writing articles, just a few per day. Rememver to include your link in those article. Use your resource box for this.

Certainly article marketing is one way to go as is traffic exchanges but for me you can't get better than Google Adwords.

napoleon: thanks man...I definitely plan on it. Should I submit to ezinearticles? Last time I checked, that was the best site to submit to.

Andrew: Aww I was afraid someone was gonna say that haha....Adwords kinda intimidates me so I always seem to put it on the back burner. I'm sure that it won't be as bad as it seems once I get the hang of it.

Hi Tim,

For a website like yours, I'd recommend using placement targeted advertising. Find websites where music artists hang out. The easiest way to start is by finding websites accepting ads through Adwords. The type of ads(banners, text, etc) each website accepts will vary.

By the way, your work is quite good. =)

Awesome thanks man. I will definitely do my research about sites accepting ads through Adwords.

Thanks!

Tim,

one of the best ways to spread the word about your site is to write a press release and use sites like PRWeb::The Online Visibility Company the press always likes entertainment and since your site is dedicated to entertainment it would be a great match. Go to the site and look around and then submit a press release, you can also use free press releases as well just google "free press release".

This can send you a good amount of traffic and buzz for your site, and your story can get sent to tons of syndications that can bring you a lot more press and traffic!

Cheers,
Magic

Magic Mel: Wow thanks for that info about the press release! I had heard about this before but it slipped my mind, so I never really got a chance to look into it.
