TV Actor Gives Tips For Sales Videos

Here's a video we shot tonight, just did a real quick editing job to get it out as soon as I could. It's just a relaxed and informal chat, no product launch here, no pitch, just useful stuff.

He's no big time famous actor yet but he does have a lot of experience (BA Hons) and works on TV, films and on stage. I feel lucky to be working with him. This is being sent to my list but wanted to share it with you guys too.

The video contains some good, basic video tips... but couldn't he have at least combed his hair before filming?

There's a 10 min time limit on Youtube clips.. gotta start at the ground level for people who are new to the concept.

There's more on the way if the overall response is positive.

    I second Marty S.

Not a pro video creator/editor myself, I find myself not very interested by the video due to his mumbling voice.

Understand that it is a quick video with little editing though.

    Perhaps you can add subtitles?

      Ha,

      Not terrible to look at.

Ok, I'll agree the accent is a bit unclear, and perhaps a wireless mic might have helped - but I think the color jump is complicating the issue a bit further.

I understand wanting to cut it up a bit to give it some action.

Might I suggest next time, trying a bit of in and out with the cropping instead of the flip to sepia and B&W. A jump or two in tighter on the face, and then a jump back.

If you can get your hands on a second camera, set that up on a different angel, but be careful not to cross the line. The line is a half circle circumference around the front of him. Anywhere in that front circle is legal.

When you go to edit, you take just the audio that has the best input - all from the same camera so it is consistent with background noise and levels.

Where are you keeping him Louise?

Alright thanks for your comments all.. lemme make a note to myself here for the next shoot.. Trev to speak clearer. Less camera jumping. Less sepia, B&W. Wireless mic. Second camera shot.

Good stuff folks, thanks for your feedback. Just bought a new mic and second camera from amazon for the next shoot.

His agency just allowed him out on day release, any longer than that and it becomes a police matter, apparently.
