I think Get response is best after Aweber.

Autoresponder plus is also a good one.

I'm about to get an autoresponder too.

I'm researching about aweber, getresponse, automateyourlist and 2 more.

But i can see that aweber is the way to go.

I prefer self hosted ARs to remain in full control. I'm using autoresponseplus and I'm happy. :-)

  I use a self hosted one also... ByPassPublisher.com.
  
  I like having all the control and I do not like the monthly payments associated with the others. I have used this system for awhile now along with many others and have never heard or had a complaint.
  
  As far as spam comlaints goes, it does not have so much to do with the program except how many emails you are pushing per hour if your on a shared hosting.
  
  In my emails I put a disclaimer stating that they are receiving the email because the subscribed or bought a product from me. If they do not wish to receive the emails then un-subscribe.
  
  I have never had a complaint. You get the complaints when you use purchased leads who have no idea of how they got on your list.
  
  The program will capture any information at all that you may want and also will send message via rss, by passing the problems associated with emails.
  
  This program has gone through several upgrades and changes over many years.

If there a BEST? Best is a relative term and what works for some may not work for others. The big key is once you choose one and start building your list it will be virtually impossible to move it to someone else without all of your subscribers having to go through ANOTHER optin process!

It IS quite possible however that IF you change autoresponder services that you WILL lose upwards of 50% of your subscribers!

I know GetResponse has a "free" version that you could try and then upgrade to the paid version. Also fellow warrior Kelvin Brown has a service that offers a free version as well and you can also upgrade to paid. I'm not aware of Aweber having this type of service so you may want to check and see.

It appears that Aweber and Get response are probably the top 2 as far as WF is concerned. I've been using weber for years and could never figure out Get Response. You are right Chuck about changing over, its probably not what I want to do but I wanted to see what others think. I'm setting up new domains and thought I might give another company a try.

  What sucks with changing is having to re-confirm all your list members. The bigger the list, the more ouch you'll feel. I guess there's the argument that the ones you lose weren't doing you any good anyway, but I'm not sure I buy that.

  Yes, but you get what you pay for. I found Get Response too confusing to continue with. At least Aweber is straight forward. For anyone a little technically challenged its probably the best one.

I love the thought of having my own system. It certainly seems the way to go. ByPassPublisher may be worth looking at as I am certainly fed up with monthly fees. As I am in Australia the amounts fluctuate with the $ value and at the moment is around $25 for AWeber.

I continue to use the same "autoresponder" I've used forever....and if you're selling a product for $997 or above...which ALL you'se people should be.......I'm going to give you the greatest autoresponder on the market. And it's free!

It's called: A HAND TYPED, PERSONALIZED EMAIL SENT TO THE CUSTOMER WHO JUST SHELLED OUT A LOT OF MONEY FOR YOUR PRODUCT. SAME THING GOES OUT TO A CUSTOMER THINKING ABOUT BUYING YOUR $997 PRODUCT OR SERVICE. AND THE HELL WITH SPELL CHECK TOO!

I know...I know....it's just not practical to do. It's too time consuming etc etc. Blah Blah Blah.

97% of you will never take this bit of advice for many many logical reasons.

That's cool.

Truth is...it's that mentality...that makes my autorepsonder work even BETTER!

It's the same mentality that makes a hand written letter....kick serious ass! Why? Cuz no one does it anymore.

First and foremost, I tried self-hosted AR before and I was blacklisted by my webhost like crazy even though I set to the allowed intervals to send emails.

Lesson learned, let the pros handle AR for you by using third party software. Don't mess around with it yourself.

As for me, I am happy with Aweber. I tried Get Response but I find it slow and confusing to use.

Do your best not to switch AR as it's really a pain of doing it.

That is just what I was suspicious of. My ISP won't allow me to send too many emails and there are other handicaps. I think I should stick with Aweber for the time being.
