Here`s my problem should i set up a site with Wordpress or make a site with static pages, via PHP,
The sites will have 1300 games, one page for each game for description for each game etc,
i need the site to have categories and or the games sorted by order A-Z.

It will take me a long time to build 1300 pages of information.
Please let me know your thoughts and such ?

Going by your 1300 pages of information you intend to create, you will still take a long time whether you go the WordPress or static route.

I will recommend WordPress as there is already a platform built which you can use to publish and manage your content.

WP also allows you to sort your content by categories. Throw in the SEO capabilities of WP and tons of functionality you get with the army of add ons that they have, your best bet is WP.

    Hope this helps.

What you can do is do it in Wordpress and then get a plugin called wp-supercache which will cache all the pages once users visit them. This prevents your server from having to constantly rebuilding the page every time the users visits that same page.

    Try Joomla:
    PUArcade - Joomla! Extensions Directory

I bought a arcade pack with 1300 flash games of ebay.
    Did you do the same...?

WordPress is a content management system. So if you want a way to organize and manage your content then use WordPress. If you're rather sift through endless numbers of individual HTML and PHP files, then go that route.

Which one is better is a fuzzy question. You have to weigh the pros and cons for your particular needs and decide based on that info.

Most people agree that WordPress has a much easier learning curve if you not familiar with either. Also, you will find lots of support and plugins with WordPress

I definitely agree. I've played around with both, but Joomla has a significantly steeper learning curve. That shouldn't stop you from using Joomla if you like it though - just pick one platform, and concentrate on learning it inside and out.

That's like asking if I should buy a car or a vehicle to drive.

Wordpress can be used as static pages (and uses php).

Maybe you are trying to determine if you should use Wordpress or some other platform to create your static pages?

(I would still vote for Wordpress over any other platform)
